Downturn in the Survey Business?

in Survey

Over the past six-months we have seen across the US and world one of the worst recessions (I'd say depression is more like it, or close it ) many of us have ever seen. Many of my friends and family and even colleagues have asked how my wife and I have survived in this climate.

I've been telling them the same thing for years, surveys, forums, get paid to programs. Almost half of them smile and think I'm joking and walk away or change the subject. The other half start asking questions, where to go, how do I get paid? etc.

The single most frequently asked question I get asked the most is, HOW MUCH MONEY CAN I MAKE. Until recently, my answer was always the same, oh about $1,000 to $2,000 a month depending on how much time you want to dedicate. Why do I say recently, well things are a changin'. Most mornings I would wake up and find 80 to 90 dollars worth of surveys in the email box. In my humble opinion it was very easy to do $30 dollars a day in surveys, equaling $1,000 a month. If I added in my focus groups, get paid to offers, trial offers, etc. I was easily making close to $2,000 every month, and only spending about 2 hours a day doing actual work. Pretty sweet right?

I've seen a very disturbing trend over the past few months (March - June 09). My email box has slowed considerably. In most days I might get a max of $50 dollars a day in opportunities. I say opportunities because you WILL NOT qualify for every survey. On average I qualify for about 65%. So if I get $50 dollars a day, I might get $30 dollars or so a day in actually paid. Well this is on a good day. I get many days right now that I'm only getting $25.00 in offers. That's maybe $15 bucks.

I'm not writing this information to be discouraging, but to let everyone know what is going on. I do still think that online surveys are a good way to make some extra cash and get by in the tough times. I recommend that everyone sign up for these sites right now. You could say I'm a glass half full kind of guy, but I honestly think we are nearing the bottom of the downward spiral in the economy. The survey business along with everything else will start to recover starting in the fall of this year.

So get started people, sign up for every one of the top sites. Get a separate email, and start making money. As always you can reach me for help or questions anytime.
